Overview
Cancun International Airport is the landing point for all flights to the city. It is approximately 30km from the center of Cancun. This airport is Mexico's second busiest, after Mexico City International Airport. However, it ranks first for international passengers who pass through the airport. There are more than 50 airlines that fly to and from Cancun International Airport. The city is located in the tropical climate zone. It has a tropical wet and dry climate. Temperatures vary very little during the rest. Cancun's peak season is from December through April, when the weather is at its most. It gets hot and uncomfortable in the summer months, which lasts from May through August. Storms and hurricanes are common in the city, which usually hits between September and November. It is best to avoid this season. Spring Break is held from Mid-march through early April. Cinco de Mayo is celebrated on May 5, and Cancun Jazz Festival takes place during the Labor Day Weekend.

The Maya Museum, the city's largest convention complex, houses 350 artifacts. It also contains skeletal remains from Tulum dating back 14,000 years. Cancun Underwater Museum, a unique attraction that is dedicated to conservation and diving, can only be seen from the water. El Meco Archaeological Site is a prominent Mayan trading center that dates back to the 1100s. Animal Adventures offers a stunning interactive aquarium with swimming with dolphins. Urbano Kabah Park provides a birds-eye view of Cancun. Isla Mujeres, Chichen Itza (excursion from Cancun), and Tulum (excursion from Cancun) are some of the most popular sightseeing spots in Cancun.
Shopping and Eating
There are many restaurants, cafes, and hotels that offer some of the best Mexican cuisine. The majority of restaurants serve Mexican cuisine, and Cancun is the best place to experience this third most popular cuisine. You should try Cancun's local delights such as Pescado a La Tikin-Xic and Kibis. Los Arcos, a Mexican restaurant that serves classic Mexican food and offers all types of drinks as well as live music. El Muellecito serves excellent seafood at its nautical theme bar, but Cheester is known for its exquisite Italian cuisine. La Dolce Vita, the most romantic restaurant in Cancun, is Va Q' Va, which serves delicious ceviche and flavorful micheladas.
Cancun is known for its charming shopping destinations, which include small boutiques and designer boutiques along the coast. La Isla Shopping Village has over 150 shops. It is located under a large canopy that contains a number of canals. The small bridges are designed to give it a Venetian feel. Kukulcan Plaza and Luxury Avenue are upscale shopping areas that feature branded shops like Louis Vuitton or Cartier. You will also find specialty restaurants and cafes here. Plaza Caracol is located at the Cancun Convention Center and houses more than 200 boutiques and shops. Plaza Las Americas is a big departmental store. Market 28 is a massive flea market located in downtown Cancun. Here tourists can find souvenirs, Mexican handcrafts, and silver jewelry at bargain rates.
